Frequently Asked Questions

Do you shoot in your studio, on location, or at my home?

Because we live in such a geographically rich state, I specialize in outdoor photography. (Some lifestyle sessions – like newborns – can be done in your home.) Here is a list of locations I already have permits for, or I can easily obtain, for your session: South Mesa Trailhead, Chautauqua Park, Lost Gulch, Artist Point, Long Canyon Trailhead, Green Mount, Walker Ranch, Myers Homestead Trailhead, parks in Superior, Broomfield and Denver, Pearl Street (Boulder), RiNo District (Denver), and many more! Want to shoot outside of Boulder or Denver? Let's go! Let's go! RMPN, Grand Lake, Lake Dillon, Loveland Pass, Breckenridge, Great Sand Dunes, Crested Butte, or beyond!

What about wardrobe changes?

In most of my packages, there are unlimited wardrobe changes! Most clients usually bring two to three outfit changes and accessories. I provide a pop-up-changing tent for your privacy and a "prop wagon" for your convenience.

Are you willing to travel?

Always! YES! I'm game for anywhere my clients want to take me! My package pricing includes travel (the fine print will tell you whether that’s within 2 hours of the Boulder/Denver area or anywhere in the state). If you want to shoot at your vacation home in the mountains, a secret getaway, or any of the amazing resort areas in our beautiful Colorado... let’s go!

How do I book you?

Reach out and let me know what you have in mind and when you’d like to schedule your shoot! If I’m available, we’ll set up an initial video chat so we can discuss your ideas and gauge if we’re gonna be a good fit! Then, once you sign a contract, you’ll pay the retainer, and we get started with the fun part – picking locations and planning!

How and when do I pay?

I require a retainer of 50% at the time of booking to hold your date. The rest is due two weeks before your session. Package pricing covers the personalized consultation, the planning and preparation, my time during the hours you’ve booked, the image preparation, and the final, edited, high-resolution digital images. Please note that the session fee does not include any physical products.

How and when will I get my digital photos, prints, and custom products?

My contract guarantees a 3-week turnaround for your fully edited, high-resolution digital photos (but I usually have them to you within 2). When they’re ready, you’ll get your fully edited, high-resolution digital photos via an online gallery. From there you can download, print, and share your photos as much as you want.

If you decide to purchase prints, albums or other custom products, I will assist you with image selection. Depending on your final selections, your custom products will be ready 4-6 weeks after the sales appointment. You will be notified by telephone or e-mail when your order is ready for pickup. Payment for your order is due in full when you select your products.

How many photos will I get?

How many photos you get all depends on which package you book (more hours = more photos), but in general, you’ll receive about 50 fully edited photos per hour you’ve booked.

Will you edit every photo?

Yes, every photo gets edited, but will remain natural-looking. I might adjust shadows, deepen contrast, and make the landscapes pop! However, I don’t retouch hair, skin, or bodies, so your photos will be accurate representations of you!

How long do you keep my images?

All delivered images are archived for a period of one (1) year from the date of your session.

Do you offer prints as well as digital files?

I do! Digitals are included in my package pricing. I also offer a variety of prints, canvases, and photo album options, so you can proudly display your photos in your home, and flip through keepsake albums with future generations.

Do you have insurance and permits?

Yes, I have full business liability insurance.

I also have annual photography permits for Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) and if you book at Rocky Mountain National Park, I take care of the permitting at that time. I’m also happy to research and secure permits for other locations you’re interested in!

What if I need to reschedule my session?

I understand that sometimes things happen that can prevent you from keeping your appointments (such as illness, or other emergency situations). If this happens, I ask that you email me a minimum of 48 hours prior to the scheduled date in order for me to be able to reschedule. I am able to provide a one-time rescheduling if you notify me a minimum of 48 hours prior to your appointment.
