It’s FALL which means it’s officially my favorite time of year to shoot weddings and elopements in Colorado! There’s just something so enchanting about the sun-kissed scenery—the mountain all aglow with yellow, orange, and red foliage. Not to mention it looks phenomenal on camera! While I’m partial to fall weddings and elopements, Colorado is gorgeous year-round, so you really can’t go wrong when it comes to choosing a season for your elopement. Jamie and Lucas’ Crested Butte elopement was nothing short of magical, as you’ll see in these photos! It was a great day weather-wise and I had an amazing couple to work with, resulting in an all-around incredible elopement. The morning started out a little windy, but it warmed up and some beautiful clouds rolled in, creating perfectly dramatic portraits. Jamie and Lucas are wonderful humans, with loving and caring families that I had the pleasure to meet. As Jamie walked arm in arm with her father to meet Lucas, I kept thinking how lucky I am to be a witness of their special day, and how, being an elopement photographer, I get to work in my favorite place—nature—AKA the great outdoors. Jamie and Lucas’ elopement ceremony was officiated by Jamie’s uncle whose words carried so much love for this young couple.

Crested Butte’s autumn colors created the perfect landscape for family and couples portraits. So many hikers and bikers cheered for the happy couple as they passed by—you could really feel all the love in the air! I feel so fortunate to be a Crested Butte elopement photographer and to get to experience all this beauty in this incredible community on the regular! After the ceremony, everyone headed out to the cabin they had rented in the mountains to open gifts then enjoy a fantastic dinner catered by Crested Butte’s Personal Chefs and prepared by Chef Emily. They use local, organic ingredients, and how good does that meal look?! It was truly the perfect ending to such a perfect day. I hope you enjoy this gallery!
