Tansie + David have THE sweetest love story.

She’s a school counselor at an elementary school in Iowa. Him, a farmer. They met through mutual friends, but had their first official date at the Lucky Pig, a bar and grill in their home state of Iowa. “It must’ve been pretty lucky,” says Tansie, “because we’ve been together ever since.” Is someone chopping onions in here?!

Their subsequent date nights have included doing arts ‘n’ crafts for Tansie’s school projects, and chasing cows back into their corrals on the farm! These activities will continue into their married life as teacher and farmer, and they wouldn’t have it any other way.

When it came to choosing a location for their small summer wedding ceremony with close family members, the mountainous beauty of north-central Colorado was a no-brainer. Tansie’s father loved visiting Colorado on vacations, especially to Estes Park, and choosing Breckenridge was a way to honor his memory and to feel like he was there with them on his daughter’s special day.

Custom Weddings of Colorado was chosen as their wedding planner. Wendee Walter-Vezzetti specializes in intimate wedding packages, which is exactly what Tansie and David were looking for. Custom Weddings always assembles a great vendor team, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it!

Tansie’s beautiful florals were created by Stefanie Hofmeister Design; their delicious wedding cake (with layers of lemon mousse and peach melba!) was lovingly made by La Patisserie Francaise.
